Star Wars Rebels Review
Star Wars Rebels has just aired it’s second episode and all right it’s better than Star Wars The Clone Wars. The series is set 14 years after Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and 5 years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
In the first episode of the new Star Wars series we were introduced with the main characters: Ezra, Sabine Wren, Hera, Zeb , Kanan and Chopper. The episode was spectacular beside meeting a new Jedi (Kanan) and as it turns out that Ezra is a youngling, which becomes clear during the episode. Actually the boy didn’t know it himself.
The episode had two great cameo's the first one was by a very young Chewbacca in it, or so it appeared to me. The second one was by none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi who’s warning to other Jedi from Revenge of the Sith was a bit extended and thus explained better.
The greatness continues in the second episode, which stars old friend R2-D2 and C-3PO who are in service of the Empire. And I can hear you think: “WHAT?!, that’s not possible”
Another thing I truly like is the animation. I just great, the scenes on Lothal are like images from a book. The characters are looking good. The whole thing just looks like a cartoon series from the nineties. To be more accurate it looks somewhat like one of my favourite cartoon series called Gargoyles and that’s not a strange thing since one of the people involved is Greg Weisman, the co-creator of that series.
The show features more old friends from the original trilogy and I am looking forward as to what the rest of the show will bring. Foremost I'm curious as to what the Inquisitor will be like as the villain of the series and of course will Darth Vader appear. All we can do is just keep on watching and see where the creators take us.
Star Wars Rebels airs on Mondays 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Dinsey XD and will be available on DVD October 14th.
