Fast & Furious 7 will be using doubles and CG for Paul Walker
It is still unreal to face the fact that Paul Walker has passed away last November. While Brick Mansion, his last finished film has been released a few months ago (for The Netherlands is still has to be released) work is being pick up at Fast and Furious 7. The movie's release has been pushed back to April 2015 ( original July 2014), and it's now been revealed how they're going to ensure that Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, will be staying in it.
It has been announced that Universal decided not to recast but and instead they have been hiring "four actors with bodies very similar to Paul's physique, and they will be used for movement and as a base. Paul's face and voice will be used on top using CGI"
So how this will turn out, I don't know but it seems to me as:
1- an option to honor Paul Walker and
2- a weird and surreal option towards the other cast members
All we can do wait for the finished film to see how this plays out. A CG Brandon Lee wasn't even noticed in The Crow, so it could work. More on Fast and Furious 7 as it come in.
