Bob Hoskins passed away at 71
Some sad news. Actor Bob Hoskins passed away. His agent said Hoskins died of pneumonia in hospital on Tuesday.
Bob Hoskins announced his retirement from acting in 2012 after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. His career spanned 40 years playing various roles of which, for my generation, his best known role was that of the detective Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and Smee in Steven Spielberg's Hook. Snow White and the Huntsman was his last film after which his retired.
The family released the following statement:
“Bob died peacefully at hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank-you for your messages of love and support.”
Bob Hoskins leaves behind his wife Linda, and his children Alex, Sarah, Rosa and Jack.
