The Wonder Years in coming to DVD

Who doesn't remember the adventures of Kevin, Paul and Winnie and problems of growing up, the Vietnam war, girls and more. The Wonder Years was a coming of age show set in the 60's and arguably one of the best tv shows ever made. But for some reason it never made it to dvd. It's rumored that is was too expensive to be released on vhs and later dvd, because of the royalties of the music that featured in the series.

Fans have been waiting forever to see the show being released, and re-runs of were slim to none, untill now.

“‘The Wonder Years’ has long been the most requested TV show yet to be released on DVD, and we’re thrilled to have the incredible opportunity to bring this iconic show to its many fans,”
said Jeffrey Peisch, senior VP of entertainment programming and marketing for StarVista Entertainment/Time Life. “As we’ve done with many other classic TV shows, the series will be treated with the care and attention it fully deserves after all these years, with deluxe packaging, robust extras and a lot more. We’re really big fans of the series, too.”

StarVista Entertainment/Time Life is painstakingly securing the rights for virtually every song in “The Wonder Years,” including Joe Cocker’s iconic theme song and hundreds of other memorable tracks, including classics from The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison and many others. And thus one of the most wanted and greatest tv shows finally makes its way to DVD.

The show ran for 6 seasons (1988-1993) and starred Fred Savage, Danica McKellar, Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Jason Hervey, Olivia d’Abo, Josh Saviano and Daniel Stern. The show was created by Neal Marlens and Carol Black in association with New World Television.
